Thomas McCartney

Thomas McCartney (22) was born and raised in Ruislip, a small area of London. His father is a high range officer in RAF. Tom loves him with all his heart, but hasn’t spent a lot of time with him, since his father was asked to fight abroad when he was only 6. Following his dad, Tom joins the army when he turns 18.

One rainy evening, coming back from rock climbing session, Thomas saves a man from the group of teenagers. A stranger handles his old box and disappears. Thomas quickly discovers that there is a small kitten of an exotic look inside the package. He adopts him and calls him Weirdo. When he saw him for the first time, he couldn’t even imagine how this gift will change his life.

Weirdo is almost an ordinary cat, apart from his incredible ability to appear in the most unexpected places. That’s why, when Tom finds a cat sitting on the ship’s deck during a military operation, he doesn’t question its presence. When Weirdo jumps off, Tom is in the water right away. As he dives after the cat, he loses his consciousness, and wakes up on the beach, inhabited by strange lizard-like creatures. Not knowing where he is, he decides to travel inland to find some people.

Could he really know that the place he ended up in is an ancient world full of mythical creatures and other humanoid beings? Everything there is new for him. He finds it hard to accept his inability to return to the world that he knows. With a time though, things are becoming more difficult. As he makes new friends, who are teaching, supporting and helping, he begins to feel torn between two worlds.

Since he was a child, Tom was always taught that honour and loyalty are the most important values that he should follow in life. Until now, he had no difficulties with his moral compass. Things have changed, though. Can he be truly loyal to two worlds?
